Are you attempting to use Gmail, as a client mail collector (such as the old Outlook Express, or Thunderbird) so that your 'live mail' lands in the gmail 'in-box'???

If that is so, how are you going about that??? Can you explain fully please???

Hi Daniel...

For a start, you cannot install Windows live mail onto a Chromebook, as you might install a programme onto a normal computer... You can only access webmail sites in the normal way...

However, what you can do, is get yourself a gmail account and use that to download your hotmail material...

That way, you can keep all your mail in one place, so you only need to log into one account to see all your mail from both Live mail and Gmail...

To my knowledge, it cannot be done the other way around...

If you already have a Gmail account, click on the 'cogwheel' - 'top right hand side' - scroll down and click on settings... Across the top, click on 'Accounts and Imports'... Half way down, you can 'Add a POP mail account that you own'... Try entering your live mail address in there and follow the instructions: if Gmail will accept a Live mail address... It may, or may not... You will need to try...

That is about as good as it gets, as far as I'm aware... Hope that helps a bit...

Hi again Daniel...

Been looking a little deeper into this problem you have and I've come to the understanding, that, if instead of 'Live Mail' you use Microsoft 'Outlook' then there is a chance that you will be able to download your Gmail message into that... Get back to me if that would be OK for you...

Oh, I forgot to say that I don't have a Chrome Book, just a built it yourself PC that my Nephew put together for me.

I don't have any problems with outlook at all... In fact, I download all my mail using Thunderbird... It will access most well established email systems... Outlook, Gmail: it all downloads to TB...

Thunderbird can be downloaded and installed to a computer from Mozilla Firefox... It's free...

Hope that helps...
