Bypassing sleep mode on HP Chromebook 11?

Hey, I just got an HP Chromebook 11 a few days ago for Uni. One thing I've been finding extremely irritating is that every time I close the Chromebook, it goes into sleep mode. When I reopen it, it can take awhile to reconnect to the school's network. Is there any way to get around this?

If You close the lid of a CB, it is set to go to sleep by default and there's nothing can be done to change that, other than signing off completely... But that will take even longer to load up and you'd need to log in again to open it fully...

However, if you close the lid when viewing (for instance) a web page, the machine 'should' come back to life, at the same page, even playing music should it be doing that when the lid is closed... I never sign out of mine for weeks on end and each time I lift the lid, it's ready to go in ten seconds or less...

As for logging into a router connection, I imagine it will take some time for it to log in, because you will have changed locations ~ I imagine... But if the machine is searching and there are several connections in the area, it's likely to go from one to the other, searching down a list...

Click on settings and the first one on the list, is to do with the WiFi... Click on the top button and it will open a page where you can list the available services you normally connect to... If the school or college server is the most important, make sure that one is at the top of the list... Such should speed up the connection process...

Please let me know if this helps with your problems, for future reference with or for others...

Thanks... Robbie....

Therein lies the 64,000 dollar question: 'What might that be'???
