Thunderbird to Chromebook, how?
Dear readers,
I am a newby here, so I may ask a basic question.

How can I migrate my e-mail-activity from THUNDERBIRD to Chromebook?

I am currently runnig several accounts on several domains, (with more than 1000 e-mails...) on Thunderbird and want to use (buy) a Chromebook for that.

Does Google provide a solution?

Many thanks in advance

Thunderbird on A Chromebook -- KIND A.....
I'm not aware of a simple direct way to install the Thunderbird client onto a Chromebook.....however.... it is possible to configure a Chromebook to run Ubuntu Linux side by side with the Chrome Operating System.

I did this, (installed Ubuntu onto my HP Chromebook 14) so that I could run Kingsoft Office for Linux. Honestly, it wasn't as hard as you may think but it was a bit time consuming. The entire procedure took me over an hour.. but in my case it was worth it.

So that's what I'd suggest you do, set up your Chromebook to run Ubuntu then proceed to load Thunderbird onto the installed Ubuntu OS.

Hope this helps ???

You can have several email accounts added to a 'G mail' account, that will allow you to send to contacts at those individual addresses... All you would need to do (as I see it) is to have all those client accounts, set to forward incoming mail to your G mail account, and then you can reply to them 'individually' from your gmail account...

In effect, you will be using your 'G mail' account as a form of Thunderbird...

I have a chrome-book and computers, so I don't have a problem now, but In the past, I have used the suggested system which worked well at the time...

Hope you get my drift on all that...

You cannot install Thunderbird on a chrome book: as far as I'm aware...

I use CloudMagic m8, works brill, you just put all your email accounts in, and you can read them all.

You can't actually install Mozilla Thunderbird on a Chromebook. ...

Chromebooks only run web apps, or at most Chrome plugins or Chrome apps that are specifically built for Chrome. ...

Given that Thunderbird has been built on native libraries, I doubt it can be easily ported over to Chrome OS or made into a web technology.
