Screen not turning on after manual power off

I've used my Samsung Chromebook for a number of months now. Today, after opening it, I started the process of powerwashing it to change owners by pressing on the power button. The screen, naturally, went black. Now I can't get the screen to light up again, despite the fact that the power button still registers as being on. Ideas?

A number of people, myself included would probably like to know how you overcame the problem, even if the answer was simplistic...

If the same thing happened to others, they might like to be aware of how to correct the situation ~ in an instance...

Any chance you can enlighten us please????

Therein lies the £64,000 dollar question: 'What might that be'???
