Windows Hosting options

After buying a Chromebook for my wife I loved it so much I bought one for myself. Now, I am a computer engineer of 30 years and pretty much a Windows server and desktop power user. That being said I find that on a personal level the only time I go to my Windows box is via Chrome RD and then only to access Quicken and Sketchup (for woodworking).

The Windows box is old and needs updating. I hate to go buy or build one just to use it for these tasks and was thinking of a hosted desktop solution. Has anybody done this (Azure, Amazon, Google) and what has your experience been?

Hello Jim,

I doubt if you'll get an answer on this forum. Photoshop is the thing I use my PC for, and I was wondering about the same option you are. You might have better luck on Google's chromebook forum. Good luck. https://www.google.com/chrome/devices/forum.html
