Chromebook simulate GPS
My Chromebook (Asus C302) does not have a GPS. Not sure if any do.
If I know where I am, how can I simulate the GPS for apps that really expect it and don't properly function without it?
Is there an app for this?
If I have to, I'm up to writing a bit of Java.
USB GPS exist
You might try a real GPS that would connect via USB. (Google 'usb gps' for examples.) I have no experience with any so I don't how well they would work, if they would work on a chromebook at all. My biggest concern would be if they expect to connect with certain software package(s); software that a chromebook would be unable to install. Ask the GPS vendor before purchasing and make sure they understand it's to be used on a chromebook.
Let us know how it goes. I might be interested if I could turn a chromebook into a big(ger) screen GPS. Google Maps would be more useful if it could locate you via GPS and not just your ISP connection.
