I'm undecided. If I listen to my Inner Gadgeteer, I'll be buying the Samsung as soon as it is available. If I listen to my Inner Cautious Financier, I'll wait and see what experiences the early adopters have. Not to mention there is always something better technologically Just Around the Corner...
I'm considering it but I'm not positive, which is why I'm here. I'd like to do my research first. I really like the look of the Samsung and I haven't had good experiences with Acer.
I wouldn't jump on one yet, i would wait till their is more flexibility between the OS and other OS applications, as well. Atm i still think their OS is too Narrow minded and too dependent on Chrome OS alone, not allowing to much custom integration between products.
I just returned to school and need something that will fit on the narrow desktop; my 17.3 I7 laptop doesn't cut it. My choices are a Chromebook or an iPad, or more specifically, Google or Apple. I prefer Google!
My Vista laptop (Vista) has needed replacing for a while and I'm SO glad I've held off purchasing a new one. The first time I read something about Chromebook I was sold...but need to learn more before purchasing! So far, the Samsung looks good to me!
I've looked at all the tablets that are available right now...and don't really like any of them (including iPad 2). I'm super interested in purchasing a Chromebook...and it's my opinion that the Samsung is a much nicer model than the Acer. The Samsung Chromebook is a bit larger than the Acer, and appears to have full-size notebook features. Unfortunately, my comments are all based on pictures off the internet. Hopefully my local Best Buy will have models to look at on or about June 15th.
I'm anxious to see models as well. That is one things that will make or break it for me. I need to be able to mess around with one and just get a feel for it. I'm excited to see them.
I have a cr-48 and now I really want one of these but certainly do not need one. The price according to the banner above seems a little steep to me. I really would have expected $250 or less.
Honestly, I am glad that I found this forum. I really wasn't too sure if it was something that I wanted, but I really like what I've learned here, and so now I'm leaning more toward a "yes".
I read about the Chrome laptop coming out soon and Google may be offering a student option which gets you the laptop plus internet access for $20 a month. That is a price I can afford and it would be perfect for me when I go back to school this fall. I'm looking forward to that option.
I need a new lap top... I will probably buy one I have a business computer but I need one for personal use. I here that if U have a Chromebook " it will make all of you wildest dreams come true"
I definitely want one, but I agree, I want to wait for the price to go down. I have read somewhere that it would be $350 - that's a little better than $400.
I'd been considering buying a new PC with Win/7, but I might decide to get a Chromebook and use my PC for printing and local storage. It depends on how convenient (and costly) it is to run in the cloud.
I got a Kindle eReader with WiFi only, and found it very annoying to have to find a (free) hotspot. My Chromebook will have 3G for sure.
