Question USB Boot in case of Hard Drive Failure?

The hard drive on my Acer C7 is dead (detected neither by Chromebook nor using external SATA to USB adapter) and I am stuck with the screen "Chrome OS is missing or damaged. Please insert a recovery USB stick." The model number is PARROT TINAMOU B-C 7690.

I cannot enter the developer mode and don't know how to USB boot. Please help to recover the system.

Probably at this time I don't want to install a new hard drive and instead prefer to boot from external USB drive with any OS, either ChromeOS or Linux.
