Acer Wi-Fi only

I just discovered that it is only the Samsung Google Chromebook that will have 3G. That means that Acer's version will only be Wi-Fi, do you think this will hurt their popularity and sales?

No, I do not think the Acer Google Chrome book is going to have any troubles. Honestly, after looking at the prices you just posted, I do not think most people will even want to use the 3G technology in the Samsung.

I don't think it will be a problem. There will probably be a 3G USB card or something like that for those that buy the Acer and demand 3g. For the most part, I think most people are just fine with Wifi only.

I have mixed feelings abiut Wi-Fi to be honest. I used it with my current laptop once when I moved house and didn't have a regular connection for a few days. I got endless warnings on the computer about the lack of security, which freaked me a bit.

ChromeOS should be even simpler with WiFi. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Yeah, Google Chromebooks have all kinds of security protocols, and lack of the normal anti viruses. So there should be less hassle with getting connected. I think it will be more user friendly in that sense. Don't you?

I'd much rather be on WiFi than 3G. 3G is slow enough for my phone, I can't imagine trying to run a Chromebook on it other than to check email.
