Unhappy Help-Cant complete registration with Cloud Print.

Chromebook Model:
Google Chrome OS
Version 65.0.3325.184 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Issue description: I'm trying to register my Epson XP-6000 to Google Cloud Print via chrome://devices/ in order to print from my Chromebook. I am capable of connecting with it via Wifi
Following these instructions:
Click Add Device.
Click the Register button that appears next to your product.
Click Register on the confirmation screen. Your product's LCD screen displays a confirmation message.
Select OK or press the OK button on your product to confirm the Google Cloud Print connection and print a test page.
Each time I try to confirm registration of my Epson XP-6000 in via Wi-Fi Direct I receive the following message after I confirm it on the printer as prompted in #4: An error has occurred. Please check your printer and try again. Iīve tried again as prompted multiple times yesterday and today again before composing this asking for help.
I just don't know how to proceed.
I do see that there is a USB connection but read somewhere not to use it unless instructed to.

Iīve scoured google in both English and Dutch without any results for a solution.

Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope.
