Wink Local Community College get Google Chromebooks

Our local community college has ordered 100 Chromebooks. I am not sure who will be using them or how, I just thought it was pretty cool. It is a pretty big college though so if this goes well I bet that they will get more.

Google has been targeting schools for sales of Chromebooks. It is nice to hear that it is actually working. I bet the IT section of the college will be the first place that gets them.

I think that renting a chromebook from the library would be awesome! Esp. if you set it up so it doesn't save your Google account on reboot! Since everything is in the cloud you could check one out for the day..if you forget your laptop or waiting on a new one to come in. Plus if they have Google Apps server then Docs and everything can be shareable with the professor....AWESOME!

It would be an awsome idea but, i would think a lto would get stolen if anything haha. But it is a great idea no doubt and is google really hit the spot with the idea of them targeting schools and business with the low monthly cost and everything as well!

I think Jason's idea is the best one! Our local school's library actually does rent out laptops for a few hours at a time, and a Chromebook would be easier to maintain than the Windows machines they use now.
