I have had the samsung and the acer, I actually like the acer C7 better because they are fun to upgrade, so far I have placed the two gigs of ram with 16, replaced the 3 cell battery with a 6 cell and replaced the 320gb spinning drive with a 240 solid state drive. I don't think that there is much more I can do to it, but it was fun to tinker with anyway.
With the samsung I was locked in to 2 gb of ram and a 16 gb solid state drive. It was fast, but not a lot of tinkering options....and I like options.
