Unlike Apple, Google actually wants people to hack into the software. Eventually someone will hack the chromebook to allow us to do some really cool things. Only downside is it will void what ever chromebook warranty is on the product.
for Chromebook hardware customization, it might be a bit more complicated and costly. After hearing the Chromebook memory is soldered onto the motherboard im not sure if we can modify the hardware.
It will void the warranty, but the point is that you could reverse the void by just resetting the laptop back to factory and everything would be alright. Unlike apple how they would track down your phone and try to pull things up and record your previous usage history.
