full screen pop up ads

this is a new acer chromebook.
everything is updated.
nothing added.
no extensions.
how do i stop the pop up ads ( all scams of course)
everything that can be ticked in settings is ticked.
what do i do now?

what do free adblockers get out of it?
and would they stop this type?
