I wouldn't say anything that uses Java is screwed. I use a variety of sites that use Java with no problem.

JavaScript is not the same thing as Java.

JavaScript is used in many websites for dynamic behaviour, and it works just fine on a Chromebook. Java applets do not work in Chromebooks without taking 'heroic' measures. See here: https://groups.google.com/group/chr...c9285b579aad/7597fa27d64fc531?lnk=gst&q&pli=1

I didn't realize there was a difference, when I think about it like that the sites I use do not really use Java applets, so that is good news for me. Although some Chromebook lovers might be pretty sad about this.
