Google Docs vs. Office

I haven't actually used Google Docs yet. How does it compare to MS Office? Can it do everything Office does? Is it compatible? Some teachers require things in an Office format.

Google Docs is, I think, a little like MS Office lite. It doesn't do all the things MS Office does (like the annotations/references thing) but it's a good basic word processor. You can save files in an Office-compatible format, so don't worry about that.
I have been using Google Documents and it amazes me. It's more sophisticated than what you think, Malone. If you've got a Gmail account, try accessing Document. It's free anyway, and what an amazing freebie it is!
I'd recommend just giving Google Docs a shot right now and seeing if it does what you need/want it to do, Sarah. Like bloggie said, it's free!
I have one problem with Google Docs and it only happens on the computer. If I have a file in Google Docs and then Copy & Paste them in to certain forums and applications on my PC, it adds extra spaces where I don't want them. Outside of that it is good.

I always use MS office so never use the Google Docs but it is quite useful so i am interested in using it..
