I was reading that Gilt sent out invites to buy the Samsung Google Chromebook early. What I do not get, is how did gilt chose who was going to get the invite? Was it from a registered group our out Certian Google accounts or what?

From what I have heard, gilt sent out invites to developers and testers Google had used while trying out the inital CR-48. However, I still suppose it was a random process.

Oh, I was wondering the same thing. I wish I had new about the testing before so I could have at least given it a try! Oh well, I guess I wait another couple weeks with everyone else.

Couple of weeks shouldn't be too bad... plus i would never buy the 1st batch of any release product.. its always bugged!
