The video out shouldn't be suffient for home use if you want a bigger display! as it does have a mini plug on the samsung while the acer has the hdmi output.

From the research I have been doing, you can connect a bigger screen to the chromebook video ports, but it won't extend the displays if thats what you want, instead it will duplicate the display.

Acer ChromeBook has a HDMI port
Samsung ChromeBook has a mini-VGA port
