Having had problems inserting images into contribution in the past, I've just found an attachment method that I'd like to try here... If you are viewing this, your feedback on what you can and/or cannot see, would be appreciated... Many thanks...

This next item, is something quite different... Can't imagine what the end result will be... I'll leave it to other viewers, to see what they make of it...

That didn't work out... It was a DOCX document and was not accepted as a valid file...

I've just realized, that there is a section, just below the attachment download part, that describes what files can be submitted... One of those is a text file... So I created one, using notepad on my main PC and I shall post it here, to see what the end result will be...

It's worth noting...

It's worth noting, that the total value of any picture uploaded, cannot be more than 976 KBs... The forum upload tool may well re-size an image for you, if it is too big... That has yet to be tried here...

It is surprising, the a PDF file, can only be a maximum of 19.5 KBs, which at first sight, doesn't appear to be of much use... That assumption, appears to have been correct, because a Blank PDF amounts to 2.66 KBs with another, containing just 238 words (1400 characters with spaces and no images) is vastly over-subscribed at 108 KBs... That, in my estimation, would make PDF files kinda worthless as a means of transmitting information in these topics...

At least, it's interesting to note, that a straight forward .txt (text) document, with the same number of words and characters as the PDF file contained, only amounts to 1.37 KBs ~ although all formatting has been excluded from the material, which make it look rather drab and uninteresting...

I hope this information is, or will be, of interest to others on the site, those planning to join the community, or any guest who may be paying a chance visit to the forum...

Any chance of some feedback on this please... Just to know that the images can be seen (or not) would be a big step forward...

That's hoping the apple lands where it should and doesn't disappear into cyberspace like some of the other illustrations I've submitted in the past...

PDF Attachment...

Trying to get things into perspective, the final attachment, using a PDF that records a structure of 19.4 KBs ~ which is 0.1 KB's below the limit...

Taking a look at this attachment, it will display the maximum amount of information, that can be included in a PDF attachment... See below...

View attachment Now is the time - Google Drive.pdf

In this case, there are 192 words ~ you count the characters and spaces: if you are interested... Use a few longer words than those in this document and you'd breach the stipulated requirement...

I think that about sums up the available file posting facilities in these groups, unless someone else has anything extra to add...

Thanks for your interest...

Error....

I've just discovered that there is an error on the last link posted, that when clicked, should provide an option to save of open that file ~ using Adobe reader ~ which works fine from a standard PC, but not (apparently) on a chromebook...

It's all kind of mumbo-jumbo, not portraying what it was supposed to... Not a lot I can do about that now, except to offer apologies to those who may have been totally confused when or if testing the process...

I'll look into the matter and if (or when) I come up with an answer, I'll post it here...

Watch this space ~ occasionally...
