I have a Samsung Chromebook that is about a year old and has a 12" screen. I see no actual model number anywhere.....just Samsung and Chrome listed on the top. It's been fine until this weekend. It'd been several months since I had shut it down, but we traveled last weekend and when I started it up everything looked fine until I opened the Chrome browser and when I opened a web site things that should be light were dark and things that should be dark were light. I had a black background and white text where normally it was white background with black text. Then I found that a few web sites looked normal. I left it on all night playing YouTUbe sleep audio and the next morning the video looked relatively normal. I shut it down and that evening it was back to mostly inverted color. I tried switching on High Contrast Mode, but it was no help. Any ideas??

I have just noticed your question being unanswered. This issue with inverted colors on your Samsung Chromebook can be caused by a few different factors, including software issues, hardware issues, or compatibility issues with certain websites. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Update your Chromebook's software: Make sure your Chromebook is running the latest version of its software. To check for updates, click on the status area in the bottom right corner of your screen and click on "Settings". Then click on "About Chrome OS" and click on "Check for updates".
  2. Clear cache and cookies: Clearing your cache and cookies can sometimes resolve issues with certain websites. To do this, click on the three dots in the upper right corner of your Chrome browser, select "More tools", and then select "Clear browsing data". Select the "Cached images and files" and "Cookies and other site data" options, and then click "Clear data".
  3. Reset your Chromebook: If the issue persists, try resetting your Chromebook to its original settings. To do this, click on the status area in the bottom right corner of your screen, select "Settings", and then click on "Advanced". Scroll down to the "Reset" section, and then click on "Powerwash". Your Chromebook will restart and return to its original settings.
  4. Disable hardware acceleration: Sometimes, hardware acceleration can cause issues with the display. To turn off hardware acceleration, click on the three dots in the upper right corner of your Chrome browser, select "Settings", and then click on "Advanced". Scroll down to the "System" section, and then toggle off the "Use hardware acceleration when available" option.
If you will need software to edit your videos, I highly recommend using TikTok. They upgraded their tools and you can do lots of things there with your file as well as post it afterward. For gaining popularity use SocCeleb.
