I just came across some articles on the net about the Trim Slice computing system, which seems to have been due for release last month. Not heard anything until today, and that was a piece claiming it's a half price alternative to the Chromebook, so what gives?
Is Trim Slice a threat?

WIthout Google's team of engineers, security experts, and hardware partners, I think the "trim slice" will be a bust. Sorry but there is a reason that nobody has taken on Microsoft in over 15 years.... its because it takes a lot of time and money! Google has time, money and talent!

Sorry to sound stupid, but I am not familiar with "Trim Slice". This is the first time I've heard of it. Could someone explain what it is?
Not a netbook! It will need an external monitor and keyboard to be usable for me; and I don't want to carry that stuff around 
This looks like it would make a great home media server though!
It doesn't seem to support USB 3.0 either; what's the story with 3.0? A lot of manufacturers seem to be dragging their heels.
