Base on the fact that Chromebook doesn't need more chips inside, shouldn't it be cheaper as what they claimed? I'm looking at the current price and I don't see a big difference at all except for a couple of tens of Sterling.

As with any new product it will be cheaper in 6 months to a year, The ChromeBook prices aren't really priced cheap, but their still somewhat affordable. I think we need to see a in-depth chromebook review to better justify the price.

So sorry

I tried to convince my daughter to get one of these instead of a mac, no luck though. I agree, they should be about 25% cheaper.
I am so sorry to hear that, you have my sincere condolences. It is never good to see a child move to the dark side. With that out of the way, I do think the price will go down at some point. Until then I think the price is fine. How much would you pay to have super fast and easy internet when ever you want it?

Totally with ya! They should be around $250-$300. We're paying for decent hardware and a web browser - no windows license, no native programs, no updates, etc.

I think the'll figure this out eventually, but how long that'll take..who knows. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah, it seems to me like they're doing that thing where the first batch is priced high and then, in subsequent months, the price gets lower and lower until people can't resist buying one just because it's so cheap. What's that thing called? It's some marketing thing, I'm sure.
