I just got my new Acer AC700 in the mail from NewEgg.com and Verizon cannot turn on the service to it because Acer never registered the device with Verizon and so they do not know that they can supply service to it. I have to take it to a Verizon service center to see if they can turn it on.

Anyway be cautious if you get a new machine as it may not have been set up with Verizon.

You could try to configure it for verizon by yourself: Use mobile broadband abroad - Chrome OS Help

  • Make sure you're signed in to your Google Account.
  • Press Ctrl+Alt+T to open a terminal window.
  • Change your carrier association by entering this command: modem_set_carrier Verizon Wireless
  • Enter exit to return to your browsing window.
  • Turn off the Chromebook.

What is it to set it to ATT if needed? Trying to buy one, but,,,
Seen some models say just 3G, than seen another that said 3G Verizon, are all cromebooks the same and offer the generic 3G, or is there different models for each carrier? Want to get the solid state battery and 3G aser model for ATT,
