Hi, I really have problems with the trackpad. I found that everytime I connect the AC power cord or even the HDMI cable, the mouse using the trackpad is useless, it goes crazy. I detected that the only way to overcome to this problem is to use a wirless mouse. Anyone can help me define whats happening? Thank you.

Not going to say this is the answer, but unless you can describe the situation of 'CRAZY' more positively, I can only asume the touch pad is overworking, with the tap to click feature switched on... I've come across that sympton more than once... They can be really 'over sensitive'...

Try going into settings and 'un-ticking' the tap to click box and see if that cures the problem... You'll then need to click (press sharply) the touch pad either once (with one finger) for a left click and once (using two fingers) for a right click... It's quite easy to work that way, once you get the hang of it...

Please give some feed back, so that we know if this works ~ or not...

I tried to un-tick the tap-to-click feature. Nothing happened. The problem persists. Let me be more specific on regards to the faulty trackpad: from the last week, everytime I connect the AC cable or even the HDMI to VGA cable, a sudden "shot" of energy powers the chromebook and suddenly the trackpad looses its grip, so the arroy is not moving following my fingers moving. Seems like if my fingers lost its grip or the trackpad is not following my finger movements. The pointer arrow randomly moves and sometimes gets stuck. If then I connect a wired or wireless mouse, automatically responds again with no problem. This did not happen when it was new a couple of weeks ago, which was pretty normal. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Sorry EG, I don't think I can offer much advice at all to that already said... I had hoped that unticking that box, might help in some way, but obviously not... One thing I did read a while ago, is that there may well be problems, if you use a HDMI to VGA conversion connecting cable... Don't know why, just read somewhere that such causes problems... Try Googling the question...

But having other problems when connecting the power lead, is quite beyond me other than to say, can you try another power adapter, to make sure yours is not faulty in any way... If you'd not already tried that, such is the route I'd go down for a start...

There are 2 things you need to try:
1. Log off your Google account and try plugging in one of those cables in Guest mode to see if same trackpad problems persist. (Login as Guest before plugging in cable)
2. Clear your browser's cache and reset browser settings to default.

Once you tried those things come back here and post your results.

touchpad sensitivity

Good tip about turning off tap to click. It seemed that if I touched wrongly, I caused some unintended action with the pad. I turned off tap to click and it improved. Didn't know about that option.
