Remote manage/wipe chrome os?

Hi all,

I'm very new to using a chrome book, and I've come across a few remote questions that I can't seem to find a good answer for and I'm hoping someone here could point me in the right direction...

I know in an educational setting or in business, Google makes it possible to remote manage chrome books with ease.

On a personal use level, is there a way to:
1) Manage the chromebook settings from a desktop? For example, let's say I want to add/remove software from the chromebook (but not from my local chrome browser, ie a game) - is there a way to do that?

2) If someone steals my chrome book, is there a way that I can remote wipe my data off of the chrome book? I know I can change my password, but is there actually a way to wipe any of my data that has been synced from google drive to the chrome book?

These may seem like basic questions, but I'm trying to see what options there are without having to acquire different software.
