Vulnerability is with chrome not chromeos and is already patched.
The useful nugget of information in there is to only install extensions you trust. This is common sense/ good advice.

Chromeos is still a safer option than any other OS and browser combination IMHO.

Well, in that case, does Google somewhat admit that these flaws actually exist? It would be actually hazardous though I had a feeling the hackers would be a bit of a nuisance.
