Base on forex rate they should be around £244 and £230 respectively. Does each item's shipping costs more than a hundred quid?

I think you need to compute the 20% VAT in the UK price which would explain most of the difference.

I just converted that price into American dollars and £399 is equal to $650 USD. If people in the UK are paying $650 USD for the ChromeBook, that sucks big time.

For $650 USD, we can buy a ChromeBook and get some really good ChromeBook accessories with the money left over.

Sheesh, that's insane! For $650 you might as well just buy a regular laptop or something and stick Chrome OS on it. Are you still going to get one?
