From the description, I am going to like everything about this laptop. If the exterior is the worst part because it is made with "cheap" parts, I think that will be the least of my worries. Those parts should be just as cheap to replace. If it's just that it looks "cheap", I don't mind, either. I am more into the performance of it.

I would prefer Samsung to Acer. It looks stylish, even if the idea of the cheap parts is anything to go by. Functionality, I agree should come first.

Chromebooks will be 100% about functionality if Google has any say in it... they have some of the worst designs, that are VERY functional. They design things for function, speed and performance... not to look pretty.

That being said, I think the Samsung looks like a quality machine from the exterior pics I have seen. I like the white Samsung Series 5 exterior.
