I love the Samsung Chromebooks but cannot tell you why. Apparently, many people are choosing to go with the former brand but I am wondering is there any reason for this?

There isn't much to separate them on features:

Acer has:
+ HDMI port

Samsung has:
+ VGA port (with dongle)
+ Longer battery life
+ Brighter screen
+ Better looks

Unless you have a strong preference for a HDMI port over VGA, the Samsung is clearly the favourite. The current user base is also tilted towards the Samsung because it shipped sooner, but this shouldn't have a big effect long term.

I would go for Samsung for obvious reasons. I don't watch movies on my laptop so I don't really need HDMI port for that respect. I just wonder why they can't be both so that we only have to choose between brands.
