As a heads up since this isn't commonly known.
Chromebooks have an SSH client built in that can be accessed using CTRL+ALT+T to bring up a terminal window then the standard ssh syntax: ssh <user> <host> [<port>]
I was able to do this without going into Developer Mode.
Thanks for the heads up. That was one of the things I was going to mess around with when I got my Chromebook. Or many I should say get since I don't have it yet!
