The @ symbol is not working on my keyboard - would be grateful for any quick fix - thanks

The '@' character...

What do you get when you hold down the shift key and tap the '@' key??? Do you happen to get the Quotes symbol i.e. ( " )??? Has it worked OK previously???

If you are getting quote marks ( " ) then somehow, you've switched your keyboard to american settings... Not sure how to get that sorted, but you might get the (@) symbol usable, if you hold down the shift key and hit number two (on the top line) because on an American keyboard: that where the (@) symbol is...

Thanks Robbie - I will certainly do that. Won't have access to the machine till Tuesday, but you've talked a lot of sense and I'm fairly sure that's the issue. We are trialing the chromebook in my school at moment and someone may have messed around with settings. Cheers

Keyboard problem...

Hey Pat...

Are you by any chance, using the 'On Screen' keyboard when this problem occurs??? Because that is of an American style giving the end results you are experiencing...

It's the same on my 'On Screen' keyboard, so it must be standard practice... I've tried to change mine to UK style, without success... It's my guess, that when they set this up, they forgot to make various options available to UK users...

You could try reporting it as a possible bug... That might set the ball rolling in the right direction...

That issue has sorted itself - the machine returned (all by itself ) to UK settings and issue is resolved - thanks for help and advice Robbie
