What age group do you think the Chromebook is targeted toward? Do you think that it would be too difficult for somebody older who has little experience with the internet, like my father, to use the Chromebook?

I do not think it is age that will be the factor, rather experience. Someone who has never used computers will have no more of an issue than learning a new computer. Those with some experience might be turned off, they just learned something and now they have to learn something new. People who have used computers a long times know that is computing and won't care.

I think you make a good point Lull. I am no youngster but I am very excited about Google chromebooks. I can see how someone set in their ways might hesitate. However, I think change is good and if you work with computers, you know the same is true.

The reason I make that point, and thank you, is that I just started teaching a good friend how to use a computer for the first time. When I thought about telling him about the Google Chromebook I realized how defeated he might feel.

I am 75 and would like to be a Chromebook "Beta tester" if it's not too late. I've been using PCs for over 30 years and teach Google applications (Picasa, Documents, Translate, Gmail, etc.) at our local senior center.
I think Eduardo sums it all up. You can be young but with not even the slightest hint of how a computer works. You could be a bit older and say in your hey days embarked on programming and stuff like that.

Computing is all about learning anyway.

Honestly, this is the first step towards a real cloud evolution in terms of end user adoption of Google online services as their primary method of computing, I think anyone excited about technology is excitied about this move.

I agree modder. The truth is that I know people from 8 years old all the way to 86 years old that love computers and the internet. Most of them are curious and interested to know more about Chrome book. I think they target it for us all.
