Verizon can't answer my quetions about data plans

I currently am using a pantech usb data card and pay for 5 G every month. I wanted to know if I can continue using this same data plan (perhaps needing to have it re-assigned to the Chromebook). Does this mean I would need to obtain the 3g model? When I called they knew nothing about Chrome OS, which I found odd considering that they are currently working with Chrome OS...
