is google ever going to make the webcam on the Chromebooks do anything except for chats?

It's be nice to be able to record/upload a video. Heck, even an android PHONE can do this. is there an issue with the hardware not being good enough on the chromebook to do this?

Have you tried the app wevideo? It seems to work for what you want.
