What would you "store" on it?

Why do the Chromebooks still have "storage" space? If you don't have to save files or anything, what would you even need that for?

First and foremost, without a local hard drive there wouldn't be any place to store and run Chrome OS from. The main function of the hard drive is for caching internet files, which is something -ALL- browsers do.
Since you have limited space on Picasa, I would store images on the drive as well as my favourite mp3 collection for the moments I'm not connected to the net...
Maybe work files that you are not allowed to store online? I definetly agree some key MP3's and tunes would be a permanent fixture on my harddrive.
