Web browser is not updated often (Chrome is updated each 6 weeks.)
No choice in hardware (only what Jobs thinks it's best for you.)
Real keyboard.
Cheaper potiental hardware.
No horrible iTunes software (your chromebook won't need another PC to function properly.)

If all you ever did was look at or read websites then maybe an iPad would suit. I think most people actually want to write things on forums like this, or send emails etc. I could never be happy without a proper keyboard.

The iPad 2 is a little better than its predecessor. Seriously though, people who have them miss having a keyboard. Everyone I know with an iPad also has a PC because of that. Most of them need to type for work or school. So, yeah that is why you should get a Google Chromebook instead or in conjunction with and iPad.

Like others have said, I would rather have a Chromebook for the keyboard because I am always wanting to type. If I only browsed the web an iPad would be great but because I communicate a lot online I like a full keyboard.

Aside from the lower price, better computing power, built-in keyboard, etc., whenever i hold an iPad, I'm super careful with it and I'm almost afraid to actually use it in case it slips out of my hands and breaks. I just don't feel that way with actual notebooks though :)
