So far there will be 2 ChromeBooks one from Acer and the other from Samsung and both come in wi-fi or 3G. Which one will you be going with and why?

I know i will be going with the 3G option since I'm always on the go!

Price for both Wifi & 3G models are as follows:


Samsung ChromeBook Series 5

Wi-Fi only model: $429.99
3G version: $499.99. Verizon provides 100MB of free 3G access to customers for the first two years.


Acer ChromeBook

Wi-Fi only model: $349.99
3G version: Price TBA ( Available June 15th)

Hopefully the Acer 3G will be $399 ... that should be a nice price-point for it.

I'm not sure why Samsung is charged $70 for 3G... that seems steep considering there is almost free wifi everywhere now.

WiFi version for me, I will just connect it to my smartphone if I'm not by an available wireless network.

Id rather have the 3G version just in case I need it. Plus I would rather have seperate data plans for my phone and the chromebook. If only there were more wifi spots available where I live than I can probably just go with the wifi version.

I would have to have the 3G version but it be best if they also offered an 3G+Wifi Version. It would be a lot better that way, thus at home or wifi equipped school they will allow you to use a wifi connection ! and when out about on a train or whatnot you can use 3g mode!

I believe the 3G versions do still in fact support WiFi so you are in luck C.os!
